The official opening of the Lighthouse Radical Bookshop kicks off at 7.30pm on Tuesday the 9th of May, 2017 – We’ve celebrated the end of an era, now it is time to ring in a new age!
Join us to toast new beginnings, have a nosey, ask questions and hear all about plans for the years ahead. There will be wine, merriment and readings from bookshop favourites – ALL ARE WELCOME.
Our launch night readers are Kirsty Logan, Regi Claire and Daniel Gray, here’s a little more about them.
Swiss born, Edinburgh based novelist and short story writer Regi Claire is the author of four works of fiction: Fighting It, The Beauty Room, Inside~Outside and the astonishing The Waiting, which was published by Word Power Books. Twice shortlisted for a Saltire Book of the Year Award, Regi has a tremendous gift for language and observation, her stories sincere, troubling and utterly enthralling.
Kirsty is an extraordinary novelist and short story writer who’s fierce queer feminist writing has put her firmly on the map as one of contemporary fiction’s talents to watch. She is the author of one novel – The Gracekeepers – and two short story collections : A Portable Shelter and The Rental Heart & Other Fairy Tales. She is one of the most captivating world-builders I have ever read.
Daniel Gray is a writer and people’s historian, whose recent publications include This is Scotland, a collaboration with photographer Alan McCredie, and his brilliant love letter to football Saturday 3pm. Published next week is his latest work, the utterly irresistible Scribbles in the Margins: 50 Eternal Delights of Books.
