Come midnight, it starts:
tapping five-finger code on bare backs,
attuned to a new kind of listening.
– Sarah Jackson
Join award-winning writer Sarah Jackson to celebrate the relationship between poetry, the ear and alternative technologies of listening.
Sarah Jackson’s publications include Pelt (Bloodaxe, 2012), which won the Seamus Heaney Prize and was longlisted for the Guardian First Book Award, Tactile Poetics (Edinburgh University Press, 2015), and Ten Poems on the Telephone (Candlestick Press, 2017). She is a BBC New Generation Thinker and was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2017.
We are thrilled to be collaborating with Edinburgh Napier’s Centre for Literature and Writing (CLAW) for this event, and their own Dr Sarah Artt will be chairing!
