On Monday 21st May we will be reading Love Alters: Lesbian Love Stories, an anthology compiled by Emma Donoghue. Inside there are 29 stories, written by writers from across the globe, from South Africa to Ireland, to Australie and New Zealand. Varied in theme, time, and place, these stories seek to be a diverse as possible. The stories are all modern, set after the Stonewall Riots in 1969, and cover everything from the taboo of discussing girls’ sexuality, to reclaiming the term “Family Values” from right-wing hardliners.
This promises to be a brilliant night of discussion!
The Other Fruit Book Club offers a free, friendly and gentle environment in which opinions are shared and new appreciations can be discovered as we explore a broad variety of books by LGBTQ+ writers.
There will be wine and tea, curious minds and relaxed conversation; A warm bookish group open to any and all readers who identify as LGBTQ+.
Just a reminder! We will be reading the first story from the first section, second story form the second section, third story from the third etc.
