Poetry at the Lighthouse : A night with Rachel Plummer

February 20 at 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free - £3

We’re thrilled to welcome Rachel Plummer as our next Lighthouse poet!

Rachel joins us to unpack, discuss, explore and share her extraordinary new pamphlet, The Parlour Guide to Exo-Politics in performance with the Scottish Clarinet Quartet. Plummer’s remarkable collection of sci-fi poetry has its genesis in a piece of electronica inspired music by Matt Rogers, in it she tests the boundaries of the form to explore themes of poverty, migration and homelessness. It is utterly beguiling!

Rachel is an Edinburgh based poet and Scottish Book Trust New Writer’s Award recipient. In 2016 she received a cultural commission from LGBT History Month to write a collection of children’s poems re-imagining LGBT versions of traditional Scottish folk stories.

The Parlour Guide to Exo-Politics is published by the brilliant indie outfit House Press.
