Join us for an entertaining evening of poetry as we host the launch of two new publications from Fife-based HappenStance Press.
Alison Brackenbury is originally from Lincolnshire, and has published nine collections of poems with Carcanet as well as making frequent appearances on BBC Radios 3 and 4. Fascinated by the poetic possibilities of digital media, she sends out a free new poem every couple of months through the Facebook group Poems from Alison. Her new book from HappenStance is called Aunt Margaret’s Pudding, and is a delightfully varied collection of poems, recipes and memoir.
Hamish Whyte has written several collections of poetry and edited many anthologies of Scottish literature. He runs Mariscat Press, is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, and in 2007 was awarded a joint Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship with Diana Hendry. He is also a member of the Edinburgh-based Shore Poets. His new pamphlet from HappenStance is a lovely collection of garden poems called Now the Robin.
Both poets will be reading from their work and talking about the stories behind the poems. Come along and enjoy an evening with two masters of the craft!
