From Arthur's Seat

Sweden, Indonesia, Iran, Chile...  The ninth volume of From Arthur's Seat is a diverse collection of emerging writers from all around the world, brought together by Scotland’s UNESCO City of Literature.

Every aspect of its production —the wheels that turn rough drafts into a book— was carried out by the Creative Writing MsC students at The University of Edinburgh. Their different ages, biographies, and backgrounds make for an exciting collage of prose, poetry, and their murky brethren.

A woman is cursed and gifted with people's strongest memories. An old Elvis with peanut allergies walks into a diner and charms the waitress. A man fills his backyard with cakes during the pandemic, to the dismay of his wife and their neighbors... From Arthur's Seat balances grief, glint, sensuality, humor... It's a journey through the different shades of our experience.
