ISRAEL The making of a racist state: with rs21 Edinburgh

Featured Speakers

Neil Rogall, Leslie Cunningham

Join us for an evening of Palestinian solidarity and the launch of the Pamphlet Israel: The Making of a Racist State by Neill Rogall. This event is being organised with rs21.

This is a history of the Zionist colonisation of Palestine. It is a history of territorial expansion and ethnic cleansing. Sometimes open, sometimes hidden, a plethora of means have been used to force Palestinians out of their country and to guarantee the Zionists’ dream of an ‘ethnically pure’ settler state. Employing methods that have been described as those of an ‘apartheid state’ they have sought to cripple the Palestinian economy and demoralise the Palestinians so that they will leave the land of their ancestors. But even now, in the darkest of times, the response of Palestinians is sumud: Steadfastness, a refusal to give up their homes, their land, their country.

Speakers:

Neill Rogall, the author, is a historian and a member of rs21.

Leslie Cunningham is also a member of rs21, a trade unionist, and a member of Edinburgh Action for Palestine (attending in a personal capacity).

Other speakers to be confirmed
