Love, Care, Joy, and the Political
Featured Speakers
Roxani Krystalli & Mairi
As part of our collaboration with the Spit It Out collective, we at Lighthouse invite you to join us in an exploration of Love, Care, Joy, and the Political, with Roxani Krystalli.
Dr Krystalli is a feminist scholar and educator, interested in how people imagine and enact worlds in the wake of violence. For over a decade she worked as a practitioner in humanitarian action, peace-building, and transitional justice and is now a Lecturer at the University of St Andrews.
Dr Krystalli is committed to understanding and supporting that which sustains life after loss, and to exploring what might come of our understandings of conflict if we were to center love and care. It is these interests and passions she brings to the bookshop garden as part of the Spit It Out festival.
First Roxani will deliver her thoughts of Love, Care, Joy, and the Political and we'll then have some time for discussion. From 2.30-3.30 we will have time for a zine/creative workshop based on prompts from Roxani and Mairi, and some space to consider how what we have heard ties into ideas of justice and transformative justice in particular.
No experience or prior knowledge is required and all materials and refreshments will be provided.
Come nurture hearts, minds and community amid the rustling leaves of the bookshop's secret garden.
Please note this event is the same one listed the Spit It Out Eventbrite page (here) If you would like to/are able to make a donation for their incredible work please do book directly through that page, or bring a wee donation on the day :)
