Visibility doesn’t necessarily mean equal rights, as many in queer communities are all too well aware of. How do we most effectively tackle the fights for true, concrete LGBTQ+ rights that lie ahead?

Join us for a galvanising, insightful evening in the company of award-winning writer and activist Ellen Jones, as she introduces us to her first book: Outrage: Why the Fight for LGBTQ+ Equality Is Not Yet Won and What We Can Do About It.

In this groundbreaking, compelling and highly readable book, Ellen exposes the discrimination queer people continue to face in all areas of life, from marriage to mental health, education to ageing, religion to sport and much more. In searing prose, punctuated with moving personal accounts, she sets out not only the issues but also practical actions that any of us can take to create a more equal society. She also highlights the trailblazers whose amazing work is already changing the world.

Come on down to the shop to kick off your LGBTQ history month in the most empowering way possible!
