All are invited to the public vigil for 26 year old International Solidarity Movement volunteer, Ayşenur Eygi, who was martyred two weeks ago by an Israeli sniper while observing a demonstration in Beita, Nablus, in the West Bank.
International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is a Palestinian led, internationalist organisation that operates on the ground in the West Bank. Volunteers join from all over the world to document and participate in the struggle against the occupation. It was created during the second intifada. The organisation operates on strategic non violent and consensus based principles. Volunteers have been killed and wounded for standing alongside Palestinians; Ayşenur was standing beneath an olive tree during a lull in the weekly protest against the expansion of illegal settlements, when she was targeted and killed. She is the 18th person to be killed in the last few years at the town's demonstration; the 17 other martyrs are Palestinian boys and men from the area.
Join us on Tuesday in remembering the lives of those who have been murdered by the occupation, whose struggle we endeavour to uphold and continue until Palestine is free.
Please feel free to come along and observe the vigil however you choose to. The shop will remain open but there will be a dedicated space and some chairs.
