Access to political content online and books on cyberpolitics
Artemis
These radical booksellers support access to political content!
In case you've missed it, the owners of Instagram and Facebook have restricted access to what is deemed 'political content'. This means that important knowledge about current events, from LGBTQ+ struggles to the attack on Gaza and calls for divestment from fossil fuels, aren't visible in the suggested feeds of users.
You can get the world back into your feed by changing your settings. Here's how:
1.Click on the three bars at the top right of your profile.
2. Scroll down or search for "content preferences".
3. Click on "Political content".
4. Select "Don't limit": the option that makes sure political content is still recommended.
Sharing this information will spread the message to others (it's also a wee way to support radical bookshops, whose whole existence is one big stack of political content!)
Below we've taken the opportunity to recommend some GOOD writing on cyber politics, online censorship and protest.
Thank you from the Lighthouse team!
