How to survive changing the world: books on wellbeing in activism
Jessica
On January 23rd we're hosting a very special evening of honest, insightful and gavanising conversation which we've been looking forward to for quite a few months.
Our Humane Resources: how to survive changing the world event was meant to take place during the Edinburgh Radical Book Fair, but plans were scuppered by a surprise blizzard. On the bright side, if you didn't hear about it then, here's your chance to join us!
We're so lucky to be able to bring together Hannah Proctor, Evie Muir and Joy Atkinson for an exploration of how we go on making change in the face of despair and increased challenges, and how we find joy in that making.
To celebrate the upcoming event, we've put together a list of Lighthous favourites on the subject of wellbeing and care within activism and organising. What are the pitfalls that often catch activist groups unaware? How do we cherish difference within groups and how do we find a balance between urgency and thoroughness in our organising?
These books dive into such questions and much else.
Join us on the 23rd January at St Augustine United Church for more!
