Polyamory in Contemporary Fiction - 2026 edition!
Pao
Representation of polyamory in fiction hasn't always been positive, and when it comes to traditionally published books, there's unfortunately been a dearth of it...until the last few years, when we were blessed with joyous books like TJ Alexander's Triple Sec and Markus Harwood-Jones' Really Cute People.
I feel like things are changing in 2026 - publishers are listening to people asking for polyamory in novels, and are finally (finally!!!) investing in novels about real characters working through the relationship styles that genuinely suit them.
I recently finished Haili Blassingame's incredible They All Fall in Love at the End, a polyamorous novel about politics, late-stage capitalism and what happens when you fall in love with your boyfriend's best friend...and his girlfriend.
Check this list out for more books like Haili's - and let us know if there's any great polyamorous fiction that we've missed!
