Radical Book Fair 2023: calling radical designers!

Every year we organise Edinburgh's Radical Book Fair - a simmering meeting point for radical books and reading, as well as an opportunity for community-building and connections leading to action off the page. This year's fair will take place 9th - 12th November at the Assembly Roxy.

As the Lighthouse team gets busy putting together this year's programme, we're also hoping to invite an artist/illustrator/designer to be part of creating space for radical imagination.

We'll be commissioning the creation of an A3 poster for this year's fair, with elements of the design to be used both online and in print.

The theme

This year's fair will explore the movement between our inner worlds and society, between personal and collective experience, the individual and the systemic in harm as well as joy. We hope for the talks and panels in the programme to encourage leaky boundaries between these, often arbitrary, categories, creating space for joy, solidarity and change.

The fee

We can pay a fee of £150 for the design of the poster. As a designer you would still be free to use any images and poster elements elsewhere. The deadline for the design would be Sep 18th 2023.

What we need from you

• Please note that we're not asking for drafts or finished designs at this point - just a note of interest.
