The Republic of Consciousness Prize 2022 Longlist

The Republic of Consciousness Prize is a rare and precious thing. It's awarded, yearly, to a piece of fiction published by any publisher in the UK and Ireland with fewer than five full-time employees. Not only does this make it a champion of essential independent and small presses, but it also means that translated fiction shares space with English-language short story collections and novels, on the same list.

These are the books longlisted for 2022's prize and we're delighted to see some of our favourite indie presses represented!
