Part of Book Fringe 2023 at Lighthouse!

Kate Rawles joins us to talk about her 13-month journey cycling the Andes on a bamboo bicycle she made herself, learning all the way about the wonders of the natural world in South America. From witnessing the devastation caused by oil drilling and goldmining to meeting those at the heart of grassroots conservation work, she emphasises the impact of biodiversity loss and why we all have a part to play in saving species and ecosystems all over the world.

Kate is joining Lighthouse as part of this year’s Book Fringe: ALT Edition in partnership with two other Edinburgh indie bookshops – Argonaut and Typewronger.
