Gears for Queers: bikes, books and zines!

Featured Speakers

Abi and Lilith of Gears for Queers

We'll be live streaming the chat just after 6.30! SO stay tuned and if you didnt get a workshop ticket and would like to join, let us know in the chat and we'll shoot you a link at 7 :)

Join Abi and Lilith of Gears for Queers to talk about bikes, books and zines!

They’ll be sharing their experience of writing about cycling as a queer neurodivergent couple with Eris Young, before guiding you through a simple and easy digital zine making method to create pages for a collaborative digital zine about experiences of walking, cycling or being outdoors, and how these relate to bigger questions of social and environmental justice.

You don't need to have done any long distance trips or big adventures, we just as much want to hear about your lockdown trips around your neighbourhood. You’ll find it easier to participate in the digital zine making with a laptop or desktop if you have access to one, but it doesn’t require any specific software or technological know-how.

More detailed information about the workshop will be sent out beforehand, but if you have any specific access needs then please get in touch.

Sign up for a fun evening of diy cut n pasting, cycle tour stories, chill chats and more - an especially special evening at the event marks the 1st Birthday of the brilliant Gears for Queers! The book brought us sunshine and escape and queer joy to fight the angst and uncertainty of the first Scottish lockdown so we're thrilled to have a chance to celebrate again!

PLEASE NOTE:

This event will involve a talk by Abi & Lilith, hosted by Eris Young, followed by a guided workshop - places are limited to allow for interactions in the workshop component of the event. There will be several 5 minute comfort breaks throughout.
