Dedication & love - a gentle writing workshop with Jj Fadaka

Poet Jj Fadaka will be leading a 45minute gentle writing workshop at First Date, with a focus on letting all love hold equal weight. How do we show dedication? Where do we dedicate our love? We'll be exploring writing in the form of vows to explore dedication and commitment, and to queer this form often associated with weddings.

Our facilitator: Jj Fadaka is a writer, facilitator and radical based in Edinburgh. Their poetry speaks to the political urgencies of abolition, feminism and love. In workshops, Jj draws on Afro-futuristic traditions to rebuild a world without barriers. She facilitates an emancipatory approach to political education and finds belonging in music, visual arts and performance.
