What does it mean to cultivate queer creativity and neurodivergent voices as writers, editors and place makers? We're thrilled to welcome Joshua Jones & JJ Fadaka to Book Fringe to explore their own writing, artistic practice and the myriad ways they work to celebrate and elevate voices from the margins both on and off the page.

This event will be 30 mins followed by audience questions and signing. Please feel free to attend any or all of these depending on your capacity!

Joshua Jones (he/him) is a queer & neurodivergent writer from Llanelli, South Wales. His debut work of fiction, Local Fires (Parthian, 2023) was shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize & he has been widely published and anthologised. He co-founded Dyddiau Du (Welsh for Dark Days), a library and artspace for/by LGBTQIA+ & neurodivergent folk. He was also the creative editor for the Room//Ystafell/Phòng (Parthian Books, 2023) anthology, celebrating queer voices from Wales and Viet Nam. He lives and works in Cardiff.

Jj Fadaka (she/they) is a writer, facilitator and radical based in Edinburgh. Their poetry speaks to the political urgencies of abolition, feminism and love. In workshops, Jj draws on Afro-futuristic traditions to rebuild a world without barriers. She facilitates an emancipatory approach to political education and finds belonging in music, visual arts and performance.
