Victorian Brooks & Elle Nash

We cannot wait to welcome Victoria Brooks to Lighthouse to launch their ‘sizzlingly hot’ debut novel, Silicone God!

What's in this sizzling novel you ask? Well:

Shae wants to stop shagging other women's husbands and be a proper queer. Plus, she's bored of only ever getting to use her new strap on a pile of cushions. The answer seems simple enough: come out, go out, and finally get it on with the fit bird at Dyke Night. Or it would be if Evaline, a wayward silicone mistress from the future, wasn't jealous....

This is a surreal, dirty little book that falls somewhere between Derek McCormack, David Cronenberg, and the tentacle porn you 'accidentally downloaded', Silicone God is for those who like it very, very weird.

Join us in-person or online for a night of reading, discussion and queer delights with Victoria who will be chaired by the brilliant Elle Nash for the launch of this ‘dark, disturbing and deeply sensual novel!’

About the author:

Victoria Brooks (she/they) is the author of Mistress Ethics: On the Virtues of Sexual Kindness (Bloomsbury, 2022) and Fucking Law: The Search for her Sexual Ethics (Zero Books, 2019), which garnered praise from writers such as Paul B. Preciado, Clarisse Thorn, and Meg-John Barker. She has also authored a number of academic articles on the ways in which conventional approaches to law harm and erase the experiences of queer people. Silicone God is their first novel.
