*** PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is in-person only and will not be livestreamed ***
Calling all writers! We know there are lots of readers of romance who also write their own work - or who would like to. So for 2024, we’ve added a writing workshop to the FIRST DATE lineup! Join Lucy Debussy for a writing workshop about seeking out the erotic and the sensual in the unusual and in the everyday. No previous experience necessary - just bring yourself and your imagination.
The workshop is a safe space to focus on exploring individual, private ideas, and that while there will be writing exercises to take part in, these will all be done individually, and you absolutely will not be expected to share your work with the other participants or the facilitator.
Content note: as part of sharing examples of published erotica, Lucy may read from stories with BDSM content.
Lucy Debussy is the burlesque, erotic writing name of Edinburgh-based author Lucy Ribchester. Her alter ego was born one unholy night in the La Venencia sherry bar in Madrid, when she was messing around writing competitive flash fiction erotica with her friend Caraigh. Lucy Debussy’s work has since been published in Erotic Review, Best Women’s Erotica, and the Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica. She has also performed at London’s legendary literary erotic soirée, Velvet Tongue, and writes a Substack on classic erotica, Lucy Debussy's Library Salon. Unspeakable Shaking Pleasures, her first collection of surreal erotic tales, was published by Trapeze on Valentine’s Day earlier this year.
