TIGER GIRL: POETRY DISCUSSION GROUP (ONLINE)

Tiger Girl by Pascale Petit was the December pick for our Hope Is The Thing Poetry subscription box and we so loved the collection we weren't quite ready to let it go - and so we thought we'd host a wee poetry discussion special!

Pascale Petit is a master of ecopoetics. This collection has such great depth, and great tangibility. The ‘Tiger Girl’ in this collection is representative of both her grandmother and also the animals Petit encounters the heritage of her grandmother’s closest jungles, those of Central India.

These poems look beyond the physical world to show us the intrinsic (often spiritual) link we have to everything around us: the flora and fauna nearest and dearest to us. Each of us is inextricably tied to the next, and to the ground we walk on, to every thing our fingertips and palms touch. These poems exude love, joy and mercy.
