Feeling good is not frivolous, it is freedom.” ― Adrienne Maree Brown

A conversation with Callie Rose Petal of the Spit It Out Project and Lisa Fannen, about radical approaches to care and wellbeing.

Lisa Fannen is a poet, performer, bodyworker and community herbalist, in her book Warp & Weft she gathers together ideas, radical frameworks and reference points to explore consciousness, and ways of understanding experiences of distress as they occur within our social and systemic contexts.

Callie Rose Petal is a multi-disciplinary conceptual artist and experimental musician under the moniker ‘lonely carp’. She centres her experience as a trans* woman with a chronic illness, and how her disability prevented a medical transition until recently, using this as a springboard for criticising transmedicalist ideology and dismantling the patriarchal norms that perpetuate transphobia.

Together we'll be discussing community care and self care, and approaches to health and wellbeing in the context of liberation and social justice.
