What Gender Should Be with Matthew Cull
Featured Speakers
Matthew Cull, chaired by Katharine Jenkins
What is gender? What should gender look like in the 21st century?
Matthew J. Cull’s new book What Gender Should Be brings together philosophy with insights from feminist and transgender theory to argue for gender pluralism: that there should be more than two genders, and that each gender term should have multiple meanings.
With novel and powerful arguments, both against existing theories and against gender abolition, the book asks how the ways we think of gender could best serve transgender as well as feminist politics. The 21st century requires a new way of thinking about gender. What Gender Should Be sets out to provide it.
This event will be 30 mins followed by audience questions and signing. Please feel free to attend any or all of these depending on your capacity!
