Read Palestine Week

We will not read ourselves out of genocide. No amount of empathy will stop a bomb coming through a tent ceiling and no amount of culture will regrow and amputated limb.

We will not read Palestinian freedom into existence.

Books can however equip up and galvanise us for what comes after we turn the final page: to resist and to rise up.

In material ways, reading Palestinian writers is also supporting Palestinian writers - paying for their words, encouraging our industry to keep publishing their work.

Read Palestine

During Read Palestine Week, Publishers for Palestine (and allies within the trade) are encouraging people around the world to read fiction and poetry by Palestinian and Palestinian diaspora authors, as well as nonfiction about Palestinians and Palestinian history, politics, arts, culture, and life, and other books about organizing, resistance, and solidarity for a Free Palestine. "We read – publicly and in community – as part of the global resistance to genocide."

Solidarity may start with a book, one you read or one you gift - but don't let it end there.
