Artemis
One of our favourite literary prizes has just announced its longlist for 2022 and it's honestly fluorescent with exciting titles.
The Jhalak prize celebrates books by British/British based writers of colour and has done so wonderously since 2017. Here's this year's longlist for your browsing ease (with a few linked paths around the website for further discovery!)
Consumed by Arifa Akbar
Somebody Loves You by Mona Arshi
Gay Bar by Jeremy Atherton Lin (check out our Queer British History, Our Stories list for more queer history joy & a link to their event!)
Like a Tree, Walking by Vahni Capildeo (astonishing as always)
Keeping the House by Tice Cin (impossible to believe this is a debut!)
A Blood Condition by Kayo Chingonyi (here's a list celebrating beloved Black poets)
The Roles We Play by Sabba Khan (Christina raved about this one for their 2021 round-up)
Honorifics by Cynthia Miller
Things I Have Withheld by Kei Miller (we hosted the Edinburgh launch of this tremendous collection and you can watch it here!)
