Multiracial Representation for Younger Readers
Jessica
Seeing yourself in a book, as has been said many times before, makes a monumental difference. Representation, however, is both about being able to see your specific struggles in a story, as well as being able to recognise yourself in happy, imaginative, unbound surroundings.
Some of these books explore, alongside their young readers, what it's like to live in multiracial families - others simply live it, happily, focusing on dinosaurs instead.
