Queer Latin American & Latinx Writing: Some of our faves
Mairi
A book list of Latin American & Latinx delights to discover as part of LGBTQ+ History Month. The selection was inspired by Andrés Ordorica's At Least This I Know , a collection exploring ancestry, racism, nationhood, activism, and queerness that we can't WAIT to launch next week at Assembly Roxy.
Top of the list are some of Andrés' own favourites from the terrific Charco Press, and these delicious suggestions: We the Animals by Justin Torres, I'm Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sanchez, and Postcolonial Love Poem by Natalie Diaz.
*this list previously contained Catherine Hernandez's terrific Crosshairs but has been amended to reflect that Catherine is in fact of Hispanic heritage not Latinx (still a very very very good book!)
