The Colour of Madness: a glorious reading list
Jessica
We're stoked, delighted and not just a little honoured to be launching a brand new edition of the magnificent The Colour of Madness: Mental Health and Race in Technicolour on Sunday May 15th!
The new incarnation of this incredible anthology, unfurling varied and generously shared experiences and stories concerning mental health by writes of colour, has been updated with even more fantastic work, and a new joyous cover. It's a lovely opportunity to return to pieces that left us reeling when we first read them, but also to discover new authors and new writing.
The book offers testimonies of a biased mental health care system, but also of the many intricate ways in which structural racism permeates how people of colour live and feel, how we survive.
Below you'll find other shop favourites on mental health written by authors of colour. This launch is a re-birth we can't wait to celebrate in person and online, alongside the book's editors Dr Samara Linton and Rianna Walcott. We hope you can JOIN US.
