Books to help with moments of reflection this week
Jessica
It will surprise no one that we are open, as usual, today on September 19th 2022.
We are here in solidarity with everyone who has and continues to suffer by the hand of British colonialism and empire, and everyone who's criticism of it has been silenced.
If you find yourself in moments of contemplation this week, thinking of how systems of oppression reach through the ages, shaping the present, we hope you find something in this list to accompany you, be it a sharp history of the commonwealth, a critique of the UK border regime, or the colonial history of climate collapse.
Throughout this week, 20% of the RRP of every copy sold of these books will go directly to MORE: Migrants Organise for Rights and Empowerment.
With love and solidarity from the Lighthouse family
